Ali ten Hove is an Olympian whose passion for sailing was sparked by her father’s Olympic legacy. Martin ten Hove competed in the 470 at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and was a bronze medalist at the 1983 Pan American Games. Ali’s passion for the sport is in the genes.
In 2016, Ali partnered with Mariah Millen to compete in the 49erFX; the duo joined the Canadian National Sailing Team in 2018. Fueled by determination, Ali and Mariah climbed to a career-high ranking of 7th in the world and represented Canada at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. In 2023, they secured a silver medal at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile.
Ali holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University. Beyond her own training, she’s a fierce advocate for women in sport, inspiring the next generation to chase their dreams and make waves in the world of sailing.
